Reduce Material Waste Before Machining Begins

Start with a blank closer to the finished geometry.

Large-diameter, heavy-wall or irregular parts can demand extensive removal from standard stock. A near-net-shape blank offers a closer form, with allowance for turning, milling, drilling or boring.

CORETRUST works with its manufacturing partner to define the blank form, grade, dimensions and machining route. Parts can be supplied rough-machined for local finishing or fully machined and inspected to the confirmed drawing.

Near-Net-Shape Blanks

A closer starting geometry for large, thick-wall or irregular parts.

Machining Allowance Planning

Set the machining allowance to suit the drawing, tolerances, geometry and machining sequence.

Semi-Finished or Ready to Install

Choose a rough-machined part for local processing or a finished component.

Why Engineers Specify Cast Nylon

A machinable material for wear, motion and component-weight challenges.

In suitable applications, cast nylon can replace steel, cast iron, bronze or aluminum where lower component weight, wear performance, low friction, vibration damping and corrosion resistance are important. Its machinability also allows rods, tubes, sheets and near-net-shape blanks to be converted into drawing-based industrial components. Final suitability depends on grade, dimensions, mating surfaces, load, speed, temperature, lubrication and operating environment.

Cast nylon wear pads, rollers and machined components

Lower Component Weight

Lighter parts can simplify handling, installation and moving assemblies.

Wear Resistance

Suitable grades can support sliding, rolling and abrasive service.

Low Friction

Cast nylon can support low-friction motion and reduced lubrication needs in suitable interfaces.

Machinability

Rods, tubes, sheets and custom blanks can be machined into drawing-based components.

Choose the Grade for the Operating Condition

Color can identify a material, but operating conditions should guide selection.

PA6G and PA6C suit many industrial parts. Modified cast nylon grades can address friction, lubrication, stiffness, impact, temperature or moisture.

Share operating data to assess grade, color, form, machining allowance and inspection scope before order confirmation.

PA6G grade options and machined component examples for operating-condition selection

Load & Pressure

Define static, dynamic and contact loads.

Speed & Motion

Describe rotation, sliding, guiding, support or intermittent motion.

Temperature

Provide normal and peak temperatures with exposure time.

Lubrication

State whether the application runs dry, uses external lubrication or requires a self-lubricating grade.

Moisture & Chemicals

Identify exposure to water, humidity, oils, greases or chemicals.

Impact & Vibration

Describe shock, vibration and possible misalignment.

Tolerance & Compliance

List critical fits, dimensions and supporting documents.
